The Doctor Weighs In

Ok, this is bad.  A third world country -- Somalia -- recently experienced a suicide bombing.   So what is new?  This suicide bombing took place at the graduation ceremony of Banadir Univeristy's medical school.  Nine students and two doctors were amongst the dead.

Help me out here.  How is blowing up newly minted doctors in a third world country --desperate for doctors -- advancing the Somali culture/society/well-being???  Who are these people who blow up folks who could provide essential services to their own countrymen/women?  

The Islamist group Al-Shabaab is being blamed by the president of Somalia for the attack.  He says the suicide bomber had a beard and shreds of a hijab -- evidently he dressed as a woman to commit this unconscionable attack.

Somali's speak out.  Muslims speak out.  Doctors speak out.  This madness has got to stop.
