Any Red Sox fans out there? Take a look at this

untitled.bmpThe Joslin Diabetes Center and the Boston Red Sox are collaborating in an online auction that will benefit Joslin Diabetes Center's Latino Diabetes Initiative and Wily Mo Pena's MoPeace Foundation.  Look at some of the items that are available to bid on:

  • In a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one child under the age of 12 will announce "Play Ball" during the pre-game ceremony at a 2007 Red Sox regular season home game and includes four infield grandstand seats.
  • A Louisville Slugger baseball bat signed by Red Sox shortstop Julio Lugo.  The bat is wrapped in an authentic Red Sox sock also signed by Lugo. The bat comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Red Sox.
  • An official MLB baseball signed by Red Sox Rightfielder Wily Mo Pena. The baseball comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
  • An official MLB baseball signed by Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz.  The baseball comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Red Sox.

The Baseball and Health/Beisbol y Salud Auction will run from May 31, 2007 to June 21, 2007. Auction items are collectibles and rare experiences for Red Sox fans young and old. All funds raised through this auction directly support Joslin's and MoPeace's efforts to prevent, treat and cure diabetes. Spread the word. Tell your friends, family and co-workers that the bidding has begun!
